It is a parasitic invertebrate in the trachea of a species that has a feeder chamber structure as a filter. This parasitic crustacean does not harm but does not benefit the host animal.

UPI said that after being identified as a new species, the creature was named Leucothoe Eltoni by scientist James Thomas , based on the name of the famous singer-songwriter: Sir Elton. John.

UPI quoted James Thomas as saying he regularly listened to Sir Elton John's music during the study.
