Noon 13/2, the Ministry of Health announced the 16th Covid-19 case in Vietnam. Mr. NVV, 50 years old, lives in Son Loi Commune, Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province. He is the father of NTD patient, one of 8 returning from Wuhan.

Earlier, the mother and sister of a NTD patient who had been identified with Covid-19 disease (nCoV) were being treated at a medical facility.

After identifying the wife and 2 daughters of NVV infected, Vinh Phuc Disease Control Center put him on the list of close contacts, isolated and daily health monitoring.

During the follow-up, the patient showed no fever, cough, shortness of breath. However, on 11/2, he felt fleeting fatigue, was recorded by medical staff, took samples and sent to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology testing.

Currently, NVV patients are isolated at Quang Ha General Clinic, Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province, with a stable health condition.

So far, Vietnam has had 16 people with Covid-19 (nCoV), 11 cases in Vinh Phuc province alone. 7 people have recovered.

In case of detection, local authorities closely monitor and supervise those who have close contact with the patient. Some people suspected of being infected carried out isolation, taking samples for testing.

Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh recently approved the addition of an independent state project 'Evaluating the effectiveness and safety of supplemental lopinavir / ritonavir in treating patients with new coronary virus infection ' , to develop a treatment regimen for patients with new acute coronary respiratory infections (nCoV).

Lopinavir / ritonavir is known as a fixed dose combination formulation for the treatment and prevention of HIV / AIDS infection.

The scientists in the study group will test for 4 weeks, from which the report evaluates the effectiveness of clinical, subclinical, virological response, as well as the safety of using lopinavir / ritonavir supplements. suitable for treating patients infected with newly infected coronary virus who are treated according to the background treatment regimen of the Ministry of Health.

The research agency also made a preliminary report on the safety of combined lopinavir / ritonavir supplementation in treating patients based on MOH treatment regimens. Based on the above reports, the combined use of lopinavir and ritonavir can be proposed in the treatment of patients with new coronary infection.

Within 12 months, the study will clarify the effectiveness and safety of the combination of lopinavir / ritonavir supplementation in the treatment of patients with new coronary infection based on the MOH treatment regimen. Propose a combination regimen of lopinavir / ritonavir supplementation to treat nCoV-infected patients.

Accordingly, Minister Chu Ngoc Anh assigned the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases to preside over and coordinate with units including Ho Chi Minh City Tropical Diseases Hospital, Pasteur Institute Ho Chi Minh City, Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Center pharmaceutical vigilance and other units assigned by the Ministry of Health to coordinate.

16 cases of Covid-19 in Vietnam, 7 people recovered

1. Li Ding, 66 years old, in Wuchang, Wuhan, Hubei, China, was cured and discharged.

2. Li Zichao, 28 years old (son of Mr. Li Ding), who worked in Long An, recovered from his illness and was discharged from the hospital on 4 February.

3. LTTH, 25 years old, in Van Luong commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province, receptionist at hotel in Nha Trang, cured.

4. NTTT, 25 years old, in Yên Định district, Thanh Hóa province, was cured.

5. PVC, 29 years old, in Tam Duong district, Vinh Phuc province, was positive on 30/1, treated at National Hospital of Tropical Diseases.

6. NTD, female, 23 years old, in Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province, positive result on 30/1. Has recovered.

7. THK, born in 1947, a US citizen, became ill on January 26, and entered the hospital on January 31.

8. VHL, female, 29 years old, in Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province, had a positive result on February 3. Has recovered.

9. TCP, 30 years old, in Minh Quang commune, Tam Dao district, Vinh Phuc province, tested positive on February 4. Has recovered.

10. PTB, female, 42 years old, in Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province, tested positive in the afternoon of 4/2.

11. PTT, 49 years old, (mother of NTD patient) in Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province, tested positive on February 6.

12. NTTD, 16 years old, (younger sister of NTD patient) in Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province, was positive on 6/2.

13. NTN, female, 29 years old, in Thien Ke commune, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province, positive on 7/2.

14. NTY, 55 years old, self-employed in Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province (neighbor of NTD workers), positive on 9/2.

15. NGL, female, 3 months old (born November 5, 2019), in Quat Luu Commune, Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province (grandchildren of PTB patient), positive on 11/2.

16. Mr. NVV, 50 years old, lives in Son Loi Commune, Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province, father of NTD patient, one of 8 people returning from Wuhan.
