According to a study published in Nature, the Sun is not the cause of warming. Some researchers, especially skeptics, do not believe in the human impact on the greenhouse effect, claiming that the Sun's illumination intensity can increase the temperature on Earth.
Photograph of black spots and light streaks on the Sun's surface (Photo: amazon) The Sun has undergone cycles of change lasting about 11 years: activity peaked to a peak (the last time in 2000 ) before decreasing at the end of the cycle. The signs of solar activity are mainly giant black spots and very bright streaks.
The team led by Peter Foukal and Tom Wigley (National Center for Atmospheric Research) reviewed studies and measurements of solar activity published to assess the impact on the Earth. To find out before 1978, they relied on observational data or isotopic studies conducted in the North and South regions.
During periods of strong solar activity, solar winds alter isotopes in the Earth's atmosphere, leaving traces on Antarctic or Greenland lands.
The satellite data shows that since 1978 the Sun's illumination has increased by 0.07%. According to the researchers, this change is not significant to explain the warming of the Earth. Although the Sun's illumination increased for 400 years, only a small part of this phenomenon can be explained.
