Tonight and tomorrow morning (January 4), the first meteor shower of 2010 will appear and astronomers can admire this phenomenon.
In 2010, people were watching the meteor shower because of unfavorable weather conditions, however, in the early days of this calendar year, members of the Hanoi Astronomical Club (HAS) excitedly Prepare to admire the Quadrantids meteor shower.
The Quadrantids meteor shower is an annual meteor shower that will peak at the night of January 3 and dawn January 4. This year, Quadrantids meteor shower took place at the end of the lunar month, there was no moon, so the opportunity to observe was more convenient.
According to Truong Ngoc Khanh, director of HAS, if it is not cloudy and rainy, then tomorrow and tomorrow morning, if we look at the sky, we can admire the meteor.
Ngoc Khanh said, to start an exciting year of astronomy, Khanh and his friends in the club will gather at the stadium to observe this phenomenon. The place of observation is at Thuy Linh Stadium (Linh Nam Ward, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi).
In ideal weather conditions (airy space, no obstructions, clear sky, little clouds, no rain) you can watch the meteor shower with the naked eye, which are bright streaks appearing in the sky to create a magical shimmering frame.
