Trojans make up 85% of dangerous software in May

British security firm Sophos said the number of e-mail containing viruses and worms is continuing to decline as hackers have switched to using Trojan to selectively attack. However, the Netsky.P worm still tops the 10 most dangerous variants in the past 31 days.

Netsky.P, first discovered in March 2004, is still the most widely distributed program by e-mail. Mytob worm "team" has also infiltrated many computer systems around the world with 5 variations appearing in the total table.

May is still considered the "Trojan horse" month when the software accounts for 85.1% of the 1,538 new threats recorded, bringing the number of variants discovered by Sophos to 122,634. . In May 2005, every 38 e-mails contained a malicious program, but now it has fallen to 1/141.

" People should not look at the top position of Netsky.P and the number of infected e-mail that dangerous software is only a product of the past. The current cybercrime is even wiser and sly.
