The cause of acne is a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes.
Acne is the most common skin disease in the United States. About 80% of Americans aged 11-30 have acne. But in some people, acne grows more than others.
Researchers have found the cause of the problem. The culprit is a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes . They eat lubricants on our skin.
At puberty, we produce more sebum compared to normal, which helps bacteria to proliferate, causing inflammation and acne.
