Video: The unprecedented image of the Sun
Scientists from the US Aerospace Agency (NASA) have just released a video of brilliant images of the Sun's surface, bringing a new perspective on this celestial body. The striking image of the Sun's surface with brilliant blue, green and yellow colors is captured from the transparent observatory Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO).
Scientists from the US Aerospace Agency (NASA) have just released a video of brilliant images of the Sun's surface, bringing a new perspective on this celestial body.
The striking image of the Sun's surface with brilliant blue, green and yellow colors was recorded from the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) during 24 hours on September 25, 2011.
Video is made up of images of SDO and applied technology of structural development. The original images were taken at the wavelength of 171 angstroms of ultraviolet rays (the human eye is only sensitive to wavelengths of 4,000-7,000 angstroms). At this wavelength, plasma currents emitted by the Sun have a temperature of about 600,000 degrees Kelvin, also known as aura.
Scott Wiesinge, Goddard Space Center scientist, said: 'There is no scientific story behind these images. But they look so beautiful. '
NASA spokesman also said: 'Although the processed images are not of scientific value but it gives us a new and colorful view of the Sun'.
The Solar Dynamics Observatory spacecraft was launched into space in February 2010. Since then, the supreme ship has sent a lot of spectacular images to the Sun to Earth.
