The whale Beluga, called Whisper, gave birth to a baby whale on Sunday (May 24). The baby whale weighs up to 175 pounds at birth (approximately 80 kg), which is heavier than the normal weight of newborn beluga whales, weighing an average of 119 to 145 pounds. Similarly, this "baby" is a little longer than average, 5 ft 4 inches long, or 162cm, while the average newborn whale will measure from 4 ft 5 to 5 ft 1.
In a video shared by the Georgia Aquarium on youtube, we can see the mother whale "giving birth", giving birth to a baby in the tank and the staff cheering and cheering for the mother and welcoming the fry. The footage also shows the adorable "baby" whale appearing for the first time and swimming around the pool.
