Vietnam - US cooperates in robotics training program

Robotics education team at schools in Vietnam went to work with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) of the US to cooperate to improve the quality of Robotics education program in Vietnam.

This cooperation will help Vietnamese students increase access to advanced science in the world, creating a premise for the development of high quality human resources in Vietnam.

The two parties agreed to cooperate in developing an integrated program of science, technology, engineering and mathematics on the basis of two IT and robotics subjects for the high school from grade 1 to grade 12. Teachers Vietnam will be supported by CMU to provide training and international certificate of robot training. In addition, the school will facilitate lecturers and students to attend activities on robotics and international competitions.

Mr. Andrew M. Amalfitano - Vice President of global operations, working at CMU believes that in the near future, Vietnamese students will also develop skills in robotics like American students.

Every year the national robotics competition (robothon) and the international robotics competition (DYA) are regularly organized so that students have the opportunity to rub against their domestic and international friends. In 2013, for the first time, Vietnam's robotics team won a primary championship and many high prizes in international competitions. This will be a stepping stone for Vietnamese students to improve their position in the robot arena.

With the permission of the Ministry of Education, DTT-Eduspec Joint Venture has initially implemented at Doan Thi Diem Primary School and Xuan Dinh Primary School in Hanoi and had initial success.
