This is an international competition sponsored by the British Council, which has a great reputation, which aims to help people cope and minimize damage to earthquakes. This contest has 99 teams from many different countries attended.
In 6 hours, only with wood, glue, elastic band, the group of students of Construction Department (Duy Tan University) has designed a 7-storey earthquake-resistant model, surpassing earthquake aftershocks that the organizers have and have earthquake resistance about 8 richter.
Last year, Duy Tan University won a consolation prize from this competition with a flexible, elastic, good-strength, flexible bamboo structure with the characteristics of Vietnamese bamboo but only withstands earthquakes of about 6 richter.
