Warning about the risk of infection of extraterrestrial pathogens

Scientists have issued a warning about the risk of infection of pathogens that humans have never known to astronauts on missions to discover new planets like Mars.

'In my opinion and in the scientific community, the probability of millions of years of rock from Mars containing an active life form that can infect Earth is very low. However, samples collected from Mars taken by NASA need to be isolated and treated carefully before proving that they are completely safe, '' said Professor Scott Hubbard from Stanford University.

Scientists need to implement methods that combine cleaning and disinfection with extremely high temperatures to prevent extraterrestrial pathogens.

Professor Scott Hubbard recognizes that safe solutions are needed to protect our planet. Humans are getting closer to traveling to Mars thanks to SpaceX and NASA, so there is a constant need to authorize and monitor private activities in space.

In order to combat any opportunity to pollute other places around our Solar System, Hubbard recommends that scientists take steps to combine cleaning and disinfection with extreme heat.

In fact, even astronaut's clothing is capable of releasing all kinds of bacteria on Earth on the planets and polluting the surface for any future scientific missions.

Humans obviously can't be cleaned like robots, so more attention to space, human habitats and use of robots as assistants is necessary, Professor Scott Hubbard added.

Earlier, quarantine requirements for Apollo astronauts were relatively quickly eliminated in the 1970s when scientists discovered the Moon was not at risk of pollution. But that doesn't mean we should not handle samples from Mars with extreme caution.
