Where does the 'natural consent' child come from?

Birth (Lotus birth) is the method of giving birth

Although it has not been verified, the information that a pregnant woman in Saigon died due to the method of giving birth (natural delivery) made many people confused.

What is a student?

Birth (Lotus birth) is a "natural" method of giving birth to an unborn child after birth, but to lose naturally. Accordingly, after natural birth, the baby's umbilical cord and placenta cord are not clamped or cut, the baby is immediately placed on the mother's chest / abdomen.

The placenta is placed in a bowl or wrapped with a wet towel, placed near the mother and the child to avoid the connection between mother and child that occurs unevenly for about an hour. After that, the placenta is preserved by washing, drying, using preservatives and placing near the baby. After a few days (usually 3-10 days), the umbilical cord will fall off the baby's abdomen, depending on the moisture in the air.

When did the inter-student movement begin?

This idea appeared in 1974 in the United States and Australia , according to an excerpt from the book "Simple Childbirth, Simple Motherhood: Your Scientific Options During Pregnancy, Birth, and Parenthood." Sarah Buckley.

In the book, Buckley wrote: "The birth of intercourse is a reasonable thing for natural childbirth, we honor the placenta, the first nutrient supply of the child".

Buckley said that cutting the first child 's umbilical cord made her feel "strange and uncomfortable" , feeling like "cutting a boneless toe". That worry made her decide to have a second child in 1993. After the baby was born, Buckley put the umbilical cord into a red velvet cloth bag, eventually the umbilical cord fell off itself after 6 days. During that time, she and her family wiped the placenta with salt and lavender essential oil 24 hours each time.

Some studies have shown that delaying cutting the umbilical cord about 30-60 seconds after birth can benefit babies.

Researchers from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), UK, found that this short delay led to an increase in the level of hemoglobin in the newborn and an increase in iron reserves for the first months of the baby. Especially in premature babies, this improves blood circulation and reduces the need for blood transfusions.

However, Dr. Schweizer stated that delaying the umbilical cord cutting in 60 seconds was different from letting the umbilical cord dry and shed freely.

Health risks

No studies have demonstrated the benefits of this approach to babies. Dr. William Schweizer, Langone Medical Center, USA, said connecting children to the placenta brings high risks.

For developing babies, the umbilical cord is the parietal gland, the placenta transmits nutrients and takes waste. But when the baby comes out, the placenta is no longer needed. Even, because of blood, when going out, the placenta is basically dead tissue, it is very susceptible to infection. This may be harmful to the baby.

Concerns about the natural number of UK births in 2008 prompted RCOG to recommend that any baby born under this method should be closely monitored to detect early signs of infection.
