According to Medical News Today, the team analyzed job satisfaction of 6,432 people, divided into 4 levels, from 1 (very tired of doing work) to 4 (very interested). They found that 45% of them had a low level of job satisfaction, 15% of the job satisfaction level, 23% were satisfied at first but tended to be low and 17% were at first less satisfied but gradually more comfortable. Participants were followed up for the next 14 to 22 years.

The results showed that people who were dissatisfied with the job were more likely to be depressed, overly anxious, insomnia and have lower mental health scores than those who felt happy with the job. Those who were initially satisfied but then less satisfied also had negative effects from this decline. On the contrary, those who are initially unhappy but then feel more comfortable are hardly affected significantly by their health.

The team noted that the major psychological effects mentioned above in their 40s are likely to become physical illnesses such as heart disease and some other illnesses as they get older.
