After 14 major surgeries and 2 years of inhaling ' vegetarian ' air, the 20-year-old Amy Oestreicher last Thursday also went to Mt. Sinai (New York, USA) to fulfill the wish to think no one needs dreams: To eat and drink.

Amy's misfortune began at the same time two years ago in the home of Westport, Connecticut . 'I had a severe stomach ache without understanding what the cause was - ' she recalled.

Immediately Amy was transferred to the emergency department hospital. An X-ray film shows a giant clot forming a tight abdomen.'The pressure is so great that when the stomach has just opened, the blood clot' exploded 'and splattered slimy substance on the ceiling' - Dr. Mark Oestreicher, Amy's father now has not been exhausted to think the spectacle that night. 'Without surgery soon, she might not be able to survive'.

Amy sank in a coma for months after parting with her stomach and part of her intestine. But then the effort and endurance were rare, plus the enthusiastic help of doctors from the six largest hospitals in the country, Amy finally resurrected.

Since then, she has been receiving intravenous nutrition - the only way to maintain life for the body.

Amy's visit to New York in the early April of this year was to get the final confirmation from Dr. Peak Woo: whether she was allowed to eat again.

The conclusion came quite quickly after a waiting day: 'Amy can drink, but not safe enough to receive food'. A bit bitter, but anyway with Amy, there is still more.

Next week, Amy will come back for Dr. Woo to check again, then half of her dreams are officially true.'It took me a long time to complete my entire wish.'
