According to a newly published study, in the next 5 years, the number of families using high-definition TVs (HDTV) will increase by 3 times.

The transition to the HDTV line is really a big step in the television industry, similar to the transition from a black-and-white TV to a previous color TV.

The reason HDTV won the favor of users is thanks to high image quality and more vivid than other product lines.

Informa Telecoms & Media research firm estimates that by 2011 the number of HDTV-owned families worldwide will reach 151 million. By the end of the year, this figure was only 46 million.

58% of families own HDTV as US citizens. 20% live in Japan. Britain, Canada, China and Germany also all won the top spot in the list of countries with the highest percentage of HDTV users in the world.

According to Adam Thomas, author of the report by Informa Telecoms & Media, the main reason why HDTV is becoming popular is the strong downward trend of this product line.

But besides, there are also many customers who feel disappointed about the accompanying service. There are still not many high-resolution content providers.

Informa Telecoms & Media is also optimistic that this situation will quickly change in the future. Currently, service providers have seen the strong development potential of the high-resolution content market. Large investments are beginning to flow into this area.

" But it still takes no time for these services to become popular ," said Simon Dyson, senior analyst at Informa - said.
