According to MedlinePlus, a simple test is to test the elasticity of the skin . Use two fingers to pinch the skin on the back of your hand, or the skin of your chest below your collarbone or abdomen. After pinching the skin for a few seconds, release your finger. If the skin immediately returns to normal, your body has enough water. If the skin that is pinched takes a bit of time to return to normal, it is a sign of dehydration and you need to take it immediately.

Dr. Dennis Gross said that the 3-second test is the best way to determine if the body is dehydrated."Dehydration reduces the elasticity of the skin, making the skin take a long time to return to its original state when it is pinched , " the doctor explained.

"When you are dehydrated, your skin gets less nutrients, vitamins and oxygen, making it ugly," said Dr. Gross.

Manning Sumner, coach and founder of Legacy Fit (UK), said men need 3.7 liters of fluid a day on average and women need 2.7 liters. This need may vary depending on age and activity."If you find yourself dehydrated, cool down immediately by using electrolytes. Also, you can eat some fruit , " Manning Sumner said.
