8 Vietnamese teachers are trained to simulate astronauts

8 Vietnamese teachers out of more than 200 high school teachers from 33 countries and 45 US states and territories have just finished the astronaut simulation training program at the US Space Center and Missile .

During two consecutive weeks from 14-27 June 2017, teachers had the opportunity to inspire passion for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

According to Deborah Barnhart, Executive Director of the US Center for Space and Missiles, the program includes 45 hours of activities taking place in classrooms and laboratories, focusing on science and space exploration. and develop leadership skills.

Teachers participate in astronaut simulation exercises to experience gravity simulation aircraft, simulate space missions, challenge programming, practice in a water environment - simulate a weightless environment force, and interactive dynamics program.

Through these activities, teachers learn how to motivate the class with ideas, lessons and other materials, apply what they learn to inspire the excitement and passion of students. with science, technology, engineering and math.

Applicants to HESA must complete a rigorous application process. Qualified teachers will be awarded scholarships, round-trip tickets, tuition fees, accommodation costs from Honeywell's contributions and company employees.

The program has been held since 2004. Since then, there have been 2,776 teachers attending the program from 62 countries and 52 states and territories of the United States, having approached and inspired more than 3 million students worldwide. Among them are 16 teachers from Vietnam.
