The 8.3kg heavy truffle was found by Monica Wilde while walking in a forest in Perthshire, Scotland on November 18, according to the Scottish Sun. The heavy mushroom is across a small dog and has a diameter of half a meter.
"Surprisingly. I just went for a walk because I thought it was too late to pick mushrooms and collect the horse chestnut trees for the kids," Monica said.
Monica found a truffle growing next to the old oak body. She retains part of the mushroom for cooking, and breaks down to give to everyone in the area. Mushrooms can be used to cook many dishes such as soups, pâté and lamb chops.
