Anableps - Anableps

Four-eyed fish are small fish that live in rivers in Central America and South America. Fish eyes are strange, like frog eyes, protruding on the top of the head. Each eye in the middle has a black horizontal diaphragm dividing the eye into two equal parts, the pupil and the lens are also divided into two, looking like four eyes, so called four-eyed fish.

The four-eyed fish has a very high vigilance. The two eyes of the fish act like 4 eyes, 2 eyes are used on the water surface, 2 eyes are used in the water. When the water comes to the surface to look for insects, the upper two eyes will be exposed to the air so that light passing through the lens is short and wide. When you see the prey, it bounces off the water to bite. When swimming under the water surface, the light will go through the egg-shaped lens into the eye to detect the prey, it chases after it.

The four-eyed fish have small long bodies, lozenges, often feed in the herd, the water level is on par with the diaphragm, making the upper half eyes in the air, the lower half in the water. Just can bite insects, can just bite shrimp shrimps. If there are people on the shore about 200 meters away, it has discovered and immediately run immediately. So it is rarely caught.
