Applying mixed fertilizer for tomatoes
Tomato plants are being cultivated by farmers all over the country, from household consumption to large commodity production. Besides breeding and caring factors, the technique of fertilizing tomatoes plays a very important role.

Tomato is a herbaceous, succulent plant native to Peru and domesticated in Mexico. Tomato grows and develops normally when the air temperature is in the range of 18-29 degrees Celsius, but if it is hotter than 32 degrees Celsius or less than 10 degrees Celsius, the flower will fall, not fruiting or poor fruit. The most suitable temperature for tomatoes is 21 - 24 degrees Celsius, if the nighttime temperature is 4 - 5 degrees C lower than the daytime, the plants give more flowers. Tomato has two forms: Infinite growth and finite growth. Much of the current production in the field uses finely grown tomatoes. The indefinite form of tomato is used in home gardens or in green houses (plastic).
Requirements for soil and nutrition
Tomatoes can be grown on a variety of soils, but preferably on neutral alluvial soil pH = 6-7, actively irrigation and drainage. The nutrient content calculated on dry matter in mature young leaves in growth stage has obtained half of the fruits: 2.7% N; 0.5% P; 2.9% K; 0.4% Mg; 1.2% Ca; 0.3% S; 119ppm Fe; 76ppm Mn; 24ppm Zn; 7ppm Cu; 25ppm B; 0.16ppm Mo. Tomato plants need 5-6 times more potassium and 3.5 - 4 times more protein than phosphorus. To create a ton of fruit, tomatoes are removed from 4.48kg N soil; 1.19kg P2O5; 7.33kg K2O; 0.24kg MgO; 2.02kg CaO.
Season and planting techniques
In the Red River Delta, the main season for growing tomatoes is the winter-spring crop; In the highlands like Da Lat, Sa Pa, Bac Ha, Tam Dao can grow tomatoes all year round. There are 3 main crops: Early - sowing crop in late July and early August, planted in August and September, harvested in late October and December; the main crop - sown from September to the end of October, planted from November, harvested in February, March next year; late season - sowing in November, planting in December, harvesting 3 - 4 years later.

Land preparation, up beds 0.9 - 1.0m wide, 20 - 30cm high (early season or spring-summer season must be 25 - 40cm). For finely grown tomatoes: Plant 2 rows along the bed, 50 - 60cm from the row, 30 - 40cm from the tree, corresponding to the density of 30,000 - 39,000 trees / ha. For infinitely growing tomatoes: Plant 2 rows along the bed, 60-70cm from the row, 40 - 50cm from the tree, corresponding to density of 24,000 - 25,000 plants / ha. Create niches, apply fertilizer to holes, mix well with soil, fill thin layers of soil and plant trees, then irrigate and water it daily until the tree becomes green.
Use Lam Thao fertilizer NPK-S for tomato plants.
Fertilize tomatoes according to the following stages:
Applying primer - before planting.
First time top dressing - after 20-25 days after planting.
The second application - when the plant is blooming, forming fruit.
The amount of fertilizer calculated on 1ha is as follows:
- Basal fertilizing: Manure 14-20 tons / ha; NPK-S * M1 5.10.3-8: 500 - 610kg / ha.
- Top dressing 1: NPK-S * M1 12.5.10-14 or NPK-S 10.5.10-5: 610 - 690kg / ha.
- Top dressing 2: NPK-S * M1 12.5.10-14 or NPK-S 10.5.10-5: 500 - 610kg / ha.
The amount of fertilizer calculated per 1 sao of Bắc Bộ (360m2) is as follows:
- Basal dressing: Manure 0.5 - 0.7 tons; NPK-S * M1 5.10.3-8: 18-22 kg.
- Top dressing 1: NPK-S * M1 12.5.10-14 or NPK-S 10.5.10-5: 22 - 25kg.
- Top dressing 2: NPK-S * M1 12.5.10-14 or NPK-S 10.5.10-5: 18 - 22kg.
For tomatoes with lots of fruit harvests or indefinitely growing tomatoes, it is possible to add 1 time of top dressing 3 - after the first harvest. The amount of fertilizer is similar to the last fertilizing time 2.
