Recently, Danish scientists have discovered a species of deep-sea bacteria of the Pacific Ocean that does not need to eat and still exist for 86 million years.

After analyzing the soft red clay samples at the bottom of the Pacific Gyre (the sea area has almost no access to the bottom) , the researchers found this extremely rare bacteria.

For every 1,000 years, this bacteria grows about 1mm.

According to Hans Roy, head of the research team, and a member of the marine exploration team, surveying ancient sediments, established in 2009, said this marine species lives in the clay layer at the bottom of the sea. There is no access to any of these nutrients for this species.

'For every 1,000 years, the bacteria have grown about 1mm. They appeared below the bottom about 86 million years ago with just a box of food. That proves, they take thousands of years to eat and digest the same amount of food as their bodies, " Roy said.

According to Roy and his colleagues, this bacterium has the world's slowest metabolic process with living conditions lacking oxygen and nutrients to help them survive.

Currently, researchers have not been able to determine the exact age of this species. They can be reproduced but very slowly with the starting line since the time of the dinosaurs.

If successful replication of this species, scientists can open up the opportunity to develop effective anti-aging products, which help improve human life expectancy.
