Ben Tre detected H5 avian influenza virus in duck flock

On August 9, Ben Tre Veterinary Department sent a quick report to the Provincial People's Committee and the Steering Committee for Avian Influenza Prevention and Control about H5N1 virus infection in ducks of farmers in the province.

Picture 1 of Ben Tre detected H5 avian influenza virus in duck flock Accordingly, 4/329 swab samples (throat fluids and swine fluids) of our ducks and Siamese ducks were taken for testing at the HCMC Animal Health Center for positive results for H5 virus. 4 samples (2 samples of ducks and 2 samples of Siamese ducks) detected virus infection in duck flocks of Ngau Thi Diep and Nguyen Van Rac households in Thanh Phu town, Thanh Phu district.

According to Ho Chi Minh City Animal Health Center, this is a sign of outbreak of bird flu in Ben Tre province. Meet favorable conditions, viruses grow, cause disease and spread quickly.

The functional industry destroyed all two ducks infected with the H5 virus and the antiseptic organization of the surrounding environment. Currently, Ben Tre Sub-Department of Animal Health continues to take serum and swab samples on 10 adjacent ducks for testing to take timely measures.
