Bio-sauna replace MBr in agriculture

On January 14, Lao Cai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that Departments and units under the Department include Gardening Association, Plant Protection Department . held a seminar with the Project Management Board. eliminating Methyl bromide (MBr) in Vietnamese agricultural production and offering solutions to replace MBr in agricultural production.

Accordingly, the most appropriate solutions in replacing MBr effectively for flowers and vegetables in Lao Cai in the coming time are bio-vapor vaporization form taken from manure + powdered lime + trichderma; lime powder + iprodion; lime lime + flubendamide .

These methods all use commercially available materials, can be widely applied in production, the effectiveness of pest control is equivalent to using MBr to replace Methyl bromide (MBr). Beneficial for the environment and human health.

According to scientists, MBr is a chemical that works effectively in dry sauna construction and soil works, to prevent pathogens, pests, and mold.

In addition, it is also used in sterilizing and quarantine during the process of moving from one place to another. However, MBr will be banned for use in Vietnam for agricultural purposes due to adverse impacts on the ozone layer.

Thus, Lao Cai is the first locality in the country to share information to overcome difficulties in pest control when Vietnam is not officially allowed to use MBr for agricultural purposes in the future.
