Cho Ray Hospital cooperates with Japan to implement a 3-year project to help patients with traumatic brain injury and stroke to recover their function and reintegrate into the community.
On August 8, Cho Ray Hospital introduced a new model of rehabilitation and community reintegration for patients with cranial trauma and stroke. This project is funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency.
In Vietnam, rehabilitation services for patients with cranial or cerebrovascular injuries in most hospitals use physiotherapy to treat ultrasound injury and electrical stimulation. words, and active bed exercises for injured limbs.

Besides, according to a study in 2005, more than 50% of patients with cerebral vascular ear in Cho Ray Hospital mentioned the difficulties in their handicapped life such as: using motorcycles, cooking , shopping, walking, cleaning, and attitudes of people around the community.
International University of Health and Social Welfare - Japan, set up a project for 3 years at the Department of Physiotherapy at Cho Ray Hospital since 2006 to improve knowledge and skills for rehabilitation specialists. power.
The project also supports the participation of patients with traumatic brain injury and stroke through daily care at the hospital (practice writing, singing, cooking, shopping, parks . .), home-based rehabilitation services (walking, toileting, dressing .), and counseling services to improve capacity and social skills.
After one year, the project served a total of 52 patients with cranial trauma and stroke. In particular, a stroke patient in his 30s can return to work full-time at a garment company, four other patients can return to school.
It is known that according to the death situation in 2005, brain injury is the leading cause of death. In addition, according to Demographers, the number of people over 65 in Vietnam will increase rapidly after 2010 and is estimated to reach about 23.5% of the total population in 2050 although now only 6.7%.
