Build a park to discover more than 6000 ancient tombs from many dynasties

In the process of building a technology park, the archaeological team accidentally discovered more than 6000 ancient tombs containing remains from many different dynasties.

More than 6000 ancient tombs dating from the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC), the Qin Dynasty (221 - 207 BC), the Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD), the Ming Dynasty (1368) - 1644) and Qing Dynasty (1636 - 1912), discovered in southwestern Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China.

According to local authorities, the archaeological team found thousands of tombs containing the remains while preparing to build a technology park here.

Before that, a field of about 10km 2 was allocated to build a technology park. This project started in March 2015. However, the archaeological team suddenly found an ancient tomb containing the remains.

After 5 years of excavation work in the area, archaeologists have discovered more than 6,000 tombs of various dynasties during 2000 years, from the Warring States period to the Qing Dynasty.

Among them, a tomb dating from the late Han Dynasty is particularly well preserved, bearing the M94 number. This tomb contains 86 burial items, hundreds of coins. Because there are no recorded documents, the archaeological team is currently unable to identify the owners of the tombs.

Most tombs are carved into small cliffs or built from bricks, containing tens of thousands of pieces of ceramic and stone artifacts.

Besides the tomb, the group also unearthed more than 10,000 artifacts, including pottery, bronze, jade and glass items. There are also cultural relics such as a gold-plated copper knife, Buddha statues, small statues .

Considering the size of the internal design, the group determined the tomb could belong to the nobles. However, at present, there are still many mysteries from this excavated area that need to be discovered, discovered and deciphered.

If the questions are answered, it will most likely reveal the history and cultural life in this region.
