Yesterday April 19, Cameroon Health Minister Urbain Olanguena Awono said that the government of the Cameroon Republic has just decided to provide free treatment drugs of all people suffering from HIV disease. /AIDS.

These patients will receive free medical examination and treatment. Previously, Cameroon provided free treatment for pregnant women, children, tuberculosis patients and HIV / AIDS-infected prisoners.

The Minister of Health said, the amount of AIDS medicine aid is taken from the government's fund and from other charitable organizations such as the International Monetary Fund and the Clinton Foundation. However, he did not specify in detail how many charity groups and how much their support was.

Awono said this year, the free treatment program is expected to spend about $ 11.9 million to treat about 47,000 HIV / AIDS-infected patients. However, Mr. Awono did not say how long this free treatment program would last.

Cameroon is a country with a population of 18 million and is also a country with many activities that repel the AIDS disease of the black continent. Cameroon is not the first country in the world to provide free medicine to AIDS patients. Previously Brazil, Senegal, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zambia also provided this service for free.
