Evangline Lim, Cooper's owner, listens to the dog barking harshly in the backyard as he prepares to dry his clothes.

The brave little dog flushes his body against the poisonous oriental brown snake to prevent enemies from harming his host family.

A 10-year-old named Cooper saves his host family in Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia, escaping from a dangerous venom attack, News.com.au reported on January 7.

Evangline Lim, Cooper's owner, listens to the dog barking harshly in the backyard as he prepares to dry his clothes. Still holding the basket of clothes in her hand, Lim saw Cooper struggling with the oriental brown snake, the second snake snake in the world."The snake was on his back and Cooper was leaning on him. Obviously the dog saved me from brown snakes , " Lim recalls.

Lim's family took a snake with a potted plant but they did not know Cooper was bitten. Although they make every effort to bring the pet dog to a nearby vet, Cooper cannot survive the brown snake's venom. It died 10 minutes after cardiac arrest in the car.

Tony Harrison, a snake catcher from Gold Coast and Brisbane Snake Catchers, said oriental brown snakes are more popular than many people imagine."They are everywhere in the Gold Coast. I catch two children every day, so people need to be more careful , " Harrison said.

Oriental brown snakes are particularly quick in self-defense and often attack as soon as they feel threatened. That might be the reason Cooper and the snake began to wrestle.

"As soon as you see the dog in contact with the snake, you should quickly take it to the veterinarian. I have witnessed many cats and dogs being attacked by brown snakes over the years and many cannot hold for more than 10 minutes" , Harrison said. Experts catch snakes stressed brown snake venom spread very quickly in human and animal bodies, causing blood to clot and muscle spasms.
