Head graft surgery will not be allowed in China due to legal and ethical issues.

Clinical experiments such as head grafting will never be allowed in China, according to Huang Jiefu, chairman of the Constitutional and Transplant Council (NODTC) in the country, People's Daily China reported on November 23.

A year ago, Dr. Xiaoping Ren at the Northeastern Chinese Medical University of China conducted an "implantation" anatomical study on two bodies with an Italian professor. Recently, this study is misleading as the first head transplant in the world, sparking a wave of controversy in the medical community. Although Ren did not provide details about the clinical experiment, he was quite confident with the results.

Representing all experts at NODTC, Huang claims that he will never be allowed in China. Such a study goes against government rules and regulations. Huang also expressed doubts about the feasibility of the surgery and stressed that experts could not provide evidence that their method of recovering damaged bone marrow.

Another aspect is the moral issue."Patients are still themselves after receiving transplanted liver and kidneys , " Huang said. But he thinks this may not be true in the case of a head transplant.

According to Huang, China is widely recognized for its achievements in organ transplantation. Voluntary donation is the only source of legal organs in the country. China is the world leader in liver, kidney, heart, lung and intestinal transplantation. Transplant doctors should enhance China's role in this area transparently and without damaging the national reputation, Huang said.
