Designing solar cars

The third contest of the Energy and Renewable Energy Fair (Encon Expo) will take place at Tan Binh Exhibition and Fair Center on October 13-16.

16 teams will compete in this innovative competition. Each team is financed by a business and solar panels for vehicle design and assembly.

According to Encon Expo 2011 Organizing Committee, the competition is only for university students, to encourage young people to apply renewable energy products into practice. This event is considered a part of the propaganda program, calling on the energy saving community of HCMC.

The opening ceremony of Encon Expo for the third time will present the lighting party with LED technology (high-tech products, energy-saving) to serve visitors.

Encon Expo 2011 spends about 350 booths for domestic and foreign organizations and businesses to display products using energy efficiency and renewable energy. The main product groups participating in the exhibition include: lighting, household electricity, renewable energy, bio-energy, and transportation.

In addition, the bank also participated in this fair to provide financial support for projects with an energy saving rate of 15% or more.

Director of Ho Chi Minh City Energy Saving Center Huynh Kim Tuoc said that in 2011, electricity price increased by 15.28% on average, gasoline price increased by 16% compared to 2010, making it difficult for life and production. Therefore the fair will be a bridge for consumers to find energy efficient products and help businesses access financial packages to support energy-saving projects.
