Diagnose HIV virus at home
The US Department of Health said it is considering allowing testing for HIV via the oral route, which is done at home. However, the government must also study the psychological consequences in case the subjects are aware of virus-positive results when they are the only ones present at the time of diagnosis.
This is a quick test sample for commercial results of Oraquick, launched by OraSure Technologies. Users only need to put the sample into their mouth for analysis from oral cells. Next place the test strip into a small test pot. Results will appear within 20 minutes later.
Currently, this diagnostic method has been used in clinics and hospitals in the United States. The US health agency is considering allowing Oraquick to be sold freely at pharmacies. However, there are many concerns that home testing may have negative psychological effects on patients.
