Discover fossils of small dinosaurs like dogs

Canadian scientists claim to have discovered the dinosaur fossil Acrotholus Audeti, a small dinosaur like dogs.

This finding proves that dinosaur numbers have existed more and more in the world than the previous hypothesis.

The reporter in Ottawa, who led the study of scientists from the Ontario Royal Museum, published on the CTV news network on May 9, said the Acrotholus Audeti dinosaur has a height not exceeding human knees and weighs only 40kg, equivalent to the sheep or the German dog breed.

This plant bipedal animal is classified as a dinosaur group called pachycephalosaur due to the special skull structure, the round head bone is about 10cm in diameter.

According to scientists, this new discovery adds an important "piece" in the process of understanding the development and extinction of dinosaurs, especially in the period of 85 million years ago.

For the first time, researchers found the Acrotholus Audeti dinosaur fossil form almost intact in 2008 in Alberta.

This is a rare opportunity for studies of small dinosaurs, since the bones of small animals are often destroyed by predators or easily decayed before they can fossilize.

By studying 600 fossils of dinosaurs belonging to the pachycephalosaur circle found so far, Canadian scientists have identified at least 16 species of this group, including Acrotholus Audeti.

Scientists believe that similar findings will help re-create special dinosaur communities over time.

Acrotholus Audeti dinosaur fossils will be on display at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto city in late May.
