Discovered 'dirty' vegetables and fruits with just a piece of paper

New information about the discovery of stimulant vegetables grows with just a piece of paper that intrigues many people, especially housewives in Nam Dinh province.

According to engineer Tran Thi Hai Binh, an officer of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Control under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Nam Dinh province, the owner of the "mystery piece of paper" in recent years , demand for safe food consumption becomes urgent, especially when food poisoning cases appear more and more, seriously affecting the health and lives of people.

With the desire to create a product that can quickly detect toxins in vegetables and fruits, help consumers choose the right clean products, ensure health, limit bad habits of producers, Ms. Hai Binh studied, tested and created a way to test food toxins with a simple chemical reaction.

It is a small piece of paper, 5cmx1cm in size, impregnated with chemicals (using turmeric, alcohol, acid clohdric, test chemicals). When used, the growth-stimulating test sample will make the paper turn orange, instead of retaining the golden color of the paper or the green of the vegetable leaf as a safe sample.

After 2 years of experimentation, this approach resulted in the exact residue of nearly 40 Giberellic acid root growth stimulants on leaf vegetables. With that result, in May last year, Ms. Binh decided to produce the first "shipment" and the product was quickly acquired by many State management units in need of quality control of agricultural products received. . She also completed the application for registration of solutions to participate in the XI National Technical Innovation Contest (2010-2011).

This is a simple, convenient way to test the functional industry and all people. Just a few seconds, "dirty" vegetables were discovered instead of hours waiting for results from the lab. Currently, this useful product has been widely used in units such as the Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department in Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Thai Binh provinces; Inspector of Nam Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Hung Vuong Primary School, Hung Vuong Kindergarten, Collective Kitchen of Nam Dinh Garment Company and free distribution to some consumers in Nam Dinh Province .

Engineer Tran Thi Hai Binh wishes in the near future, this useful test can be provided to housewives. Ms. Binh also continued to research to bring a new way to test quickly pesticides on vegetables and fruits.
