Mostafa Waziri, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that the Department of Archeology of Cairo University discovered the tomb of Ptah-M-Wea during excavations in the Saqqara area in Giza. This was the administrator of the treasury under pharaoh Ramses II , who ruled Egypt for 66 years from 1279 to 1212 BC.

The mausoleum located in the site includes the tombs of high-ranking officials from the 19th dynasty and the works supporting the cluster of tombs of the 18th dynasty, the most important of which is the tomb of the army commander. Ola al-Ajezy, head of the archaeological team at Cairo University, shared that the cemetery was built in a typical tomb-temple style. This style consists of an entrance in the form of a large building, followed by one or more small courtyards. At the end of the tomb there are shrines to the goddess in the west, above there is a small pyramid. The entrance to the tomb is built from stone, engraved with many images of the owner of the tomb. The most distinctive image depicts the offering of offerings and the slaughter of a calf.

In the tomb there are many pillars named Osiria, named after the god Osiris, a symbol connecting heaven and earth. The ancient Egyptians believed that the pillar would reach heaven. Through that, Ra, the god of heaven, will contact Osiris, the god of hell.
