During the study, the group recorded high levels of cyanic light, which led volunteers to become more alert than low levels.
They confirmed by measuring melatonin levels - or sleep hormones, produced when the body thought it was dark. The concentrations they measured differed for each degree of specific cyanide light. The higher the cyanide brightness, the less melatonin they find.
Professor Rob Lucas said: "This result is very interesting because we realize that cyan light is capable of affecting sleep, and finding ways to improve the display design.
We have created a separate screen that fixes the problem by adjusting the data presentation department, hoping this design will be applied on every screen in the near future ".
The design they mentioned is called "melanopic screen" (melanopic is a synonym for melatonin) that allows users to adjust the level of cyan light emitted from the screen.
On computer screens and ordinary TVs, cyan colors are created through the combination of green and blue light. They even said that this new technology will make image quality sharper.
Lucas stated: "This new design makes it easier for smartphone addicts to sleep and supports those who need to work with computers at night".
