Encourage students to participate in environmental protection ideas

At Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the "Green Idea Contest 2009" was held and attended by more than 100 students from the Polytechnic, Construction and National Economics schools.

The meeting was organized to bring information about the contest to the students, to help young people better understand the contest rules as well as the judging criteria of the judges, and encourage students to join contribute their ideas to protect the environment.

According to Ms. Dang Kim Chi, Chairman of the Scientific Council (Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment), in the past when life was poor and simple, we went to the market by lane, using bamboo and basket baskets. pedal . Today we go to the market every day to carry dozens of plastic bags, baskets made of plastic, travel by motorbike with a tremendous amount of emissions to flood the streets, or use air conditioner to fight with the harshness of the weather.

"The more modern life is, the more people destroy the environment in the process of serving their needs. Let's join this competition, to contribute to the community of their ideas to help protect the environment. school, " emphasized Kim Chi.

And Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, representative of the Organizing Committee, said that if the projects win prizes and receive support money to implement, it itself has proved outstanding and practical for the community itself will be sustainable. and will be sought by other donors, not just the sponsors of the Organizing Committee.

In the near future, the exchange program to learn about the "Green Idea" contest continues to be carried out at the University of Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University) on November 3, the National University of Civil Engineering on December 6. The program will go to HCMC Polytechnic University on November 18.

The "Green Idea 2009" contest is in the overall Go Green Program - Green Journey organized by Toyota Vietnam Motor Company in collaboration with the General Department of Environment, Ministry of Education and Training, with the aim of raising community awareness. on the environment and contribute to improving environmental quality in Vietnam.
