Conservation officials in India discovered a male tiger taking care of two young animals, a rare phenomenon in the world of tigers.
The BBC reported that a female tiger in the Ranthambore reserve died on February 9, leaving two children. Then through the pictures taken by the camera in the forest, they saw a male tiger named T25 taking care of two unfortunate animals like their mother. Conservation officials have not identified whether the pair of young tigers is the offspring of male tigers.
Rajesh Gupta, an official of the reserve, said that in the most recent picture, T25 walked about two meters behind two cubs.
" On May 30, I drove into the sanctuary. From the top of a cliff, I saw one of the two cubs feeding on the male tiger to release ," Gupta said.
The photo taken on May 14 showed that the male tiger was about a meter away from the tiger. Photo: BBC.
Scientists say that in the world of tigers, the task of taking care of children belongs to the tiger. Until now, there has not been any record of male tigers taking care of their children. The male tiger does not eat their children, but is willing to kill another's son when the opportunity arises. After the children die, the tigers will enter the earlier estrus period and the male tiger will take advantage of that opportunity to create its children.
Ranthambore, one of India's most famous tiger sanctuaries, has about 40 tigers, including dozens of tigers. According to the latest statistics made in March, there are 1,706 tigers living in India.
