The sound of wind rustling through the trees has replaced the referee whistle at a football field in the city of Klagenfurt, southern Austria.Woerthersee Stadium with a capacity of 32,000 seats is now a green work of art with 300 trees of all kinds covering the yard.
The work "For the Forest" by artist Klaus Littmann will be officially released early next week and is scheduled to open until the end of October 27 for the public to visit. During this time, visitors can admire the scenery of fallen leaves in the fall, Littmann said. The forest is also equipped with artificial lighting systems that allow people to visit the stadium until 10pm.

The selected plants, including birch, beech, and deciduous pine needles, have created a typical temperate forest in Europe. This is one of the largest environmental projects in Klagenfurt, to raise public awareness about the importance of natural forests as well as the effects of climate change.
After October 27, the forest will be removed from the stadium to make room for football matches. All trees will be carefully replanted in public places throughout the city.
