Researchers and students at Kansas University unearthed fossils suspected of being violent tyrants from Hell Creek in central Montana, USA, Fox News on March 29. The skeleton consists of a part of the upper jaw bone complete with full teeth and skulls, feet, hips and spine.
This team of fossil speculators is an immature Tyrannosaurus rex living 66.5 million years ago. But it may also belong to a small carnivorous dinosaur.
"The teeth show that it is a tyrant dinosaur. However, we still need to research more," said David Burnham, who prepares a vertebrate paleontological specimen at the Institute of Biodiversity. University of Kansas, said. "Because small T-rex dinosaurs are so rare, only a few of them have been found over the years, it is difficult to distinguish changes as they grow."
Scientists say this is the fossil of an immature tyrannical dinosaur.
According to Burnham, university researchers are very fortunate to have an older tyrant dinosaur fossil compared to the latest discovery. They are analyzing the specimen and plan to return to Hell Creek this summer to look for more bones.
