(Photo: museumofhoaxes) Dr. Gary Steinman at Long Island Jewish Medical Institute in the US compared the height of 125 twins and 24 triplets with the average height of American women.

He found those who were multidisciplinary about 2.5 cm taller than average height. High women often have more IGF. IGF is a protein produced in the liver when there is a reaction to growth hormone. It increases the sensitivity of the ovaries to follicle stimulating hormones, thereby increasing ovulation.

"Any condition that affects the amount of IGF available, leading to changes in the ovarian sensitivity to follicle stimulating hormone, will control the ability of twins , " Steinman said.

IGF also stimulates cells in the long axis of the developing bone. Previous research has shown that dwarfs have lower IGF levels. Other research shows that IGF helps embryos survive in the early stages of development.

In the previous study, Steinman also found that women who used many animal products, especially milk, were five times more likely to have twins. Dairy cows as well as humans produce IGF when they react to growth hormones, thereby increasing IGF levels in milk.
