British scientists discovered a new effect of hypnosis, which is to help young children feel less painful in medical therapy as well as cancer-related pain. In addition, Dr. Christina Liossi, from the University of Wales, said hypnosis can also prolong the lives of cancer patients.

In a study of 80 children and divided into 4 groups, the two groups were treated with hypnosis combined with anesthesia and the two groups were only treated with anesthesia. Results showed that 40 children who received anesthesia combined with hypnosis felt less painful than those treated with anesthesia only.

Children from 6 -16 years old are placed in a trance and experts teach them to hypnotize themselves before experiencing the pain. Dr. Liossi then asked the children to assess the degree of pain experienced by the test from level 0 to level 5. The results showed that when they were not hypnotized the pain level was always at level 4 and 5, but when hypnotized they feel less pain, only level 0 to level 2.

Another study presented at Exeter's BA Scientific Conference demonstrates that hypnosis is a genuine natural state that people do not simply fool themselves into thinking. Sensitive people, when placed in a hypnotic state, had changes in the cortex on the left side and a structure called Cingulated wrinkles when viewed through the MRI scanner screen. Dr. John Gruzelier, of Imperial University (London) said: 'Brain lobe is related to plans, future actions, current analyzes and what we do. Therefore, when it is dominated by hypnosis, the painful feelings will go away. '

Dr. Liossi said that she has evidence that hypnosis can prolong the life of adult cancer patients. Liossi also said: 'There are some studies that show that patients placed in hypnosis have brought encouraging results, particularly cancer-related symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and pain. This is considered a breakthrough in the use of hypnosis in the medical industry. It will certainly bring hope to cancer patients'
