Intel revealed the price of quad-core processor chips

Information posted in Taiwan's DigiTimes newspaper said the price of Intel's upcoming quad-core chips will not be less than $ 800.

This can be considered relatively accurate information because DigiTimes claims to have seen Intel's product development plan.

Under the plan, the Core 2 Extreme processor - codenamed Kentsfield - for gamers will be sold for $ 999.

However, this is the price that is sold when buying with 1,000 chips. It is expected that the price of individual canned products will be slightly higher. The chip will be officially launched later this year.

Meanwhile, Core 2 Quad Q6600 chips are expected to be released in the first quarter of next year and will sell for $ 851. This price is much higher than Intel's Core 2 Duos products. This is completely understandable because quad-core processor chips are still considered a premium product.
