The team of scientists at IceCure Medical Company in Israel has developed cryoablation , which effectively kills breast cancer cells without resorting to surgery to remove the tumor.

Thermodynamic technology uses a tiny needle to pump a supercooled liquid nitrogen solution about -170 degrees C into breast cancer. Liquid nitrogen solution works to freeze cancer cells. Later, scientists used the temperature to melt the ice blocks, causing cancer cells to be destroyed.

Without requiring anesthesia, thermodynamics can complete treatment within 15 minutes and help patients recover faster than current surgery - requiring patients to stay in the hospital for up to 1 week. .

'The method of killing high-temperature cancer cells has been tested before, but it makes patients extremely painful. Because our bodies are very sensitive to high temperatures , 'said Hezi Himmelfarb, president of IceCure, on the Daily Mail. 'But cold temperatures have anesthesia effect, so patients feel less single pain during and after treatment'.

The team said they are currently testing a new technique for 30 patients with breast cancer. They hope the new method can replace surgical procedures to treat breast cancer and other types of cancer such as kidney, prostate and liver in the future.

IceCure's thermodynamic technology has been certified for use in the US and is awaiting certification in Europe next year.
