Men struggle with disease less than women

Strong men are often a fun topic in women's stories with the image of him moaning, grimacing when he complains non-stop because of a cold.

>>>Men and women who suffer better?
>>> Red-haired people suffer less than those with dark hair

Recent research has shown that men 's illness is not a mystery when they are deficient in estrogenic hormones that make the immune system suffer much less. Scientists from Harvard University believe that this deficiency makes men more susceptible to pneumonia and other respiratory diseases.

The study, published in Life Sciences, examined the effect of bacteria that cause lung disease on mice by introducing bacteria into the lungs of mice. Professor Lester Kobzik from the School of Public Health, Harvard University, found females better able to resist natural diseases. This resistance is related to the enzyme NOS 3 that is activated under the action of hormones like estrogen.

The team continued to experiment with male mice - another, eliminating the gene responsible for producing NOS 3 . As a result, female mice lose their disease resistance. Injecting one dose of estrogen for both females and males, both groups can get rid of severe pneumonia, cleaning up the bacteria in the lungs much faster than normal mice.

The team hopes, in the future, that the new discovery could be used to increase resistance to serious and common lung diseases, preventing flu from developing into more serious lung disease.

The Harvard University study is not the first to provide evidence for the phenomenon of flu in men . Another project at Durham University last year also suggested that men have a more common cough and cold because they have more heat receptors in the brain, so experiencing worse illnesses.
