Menopausal women are men who are young girls
Humans are the only animal on earth to suffer from menopause. Scientists make many hypotheses to explain the phenomenon, such as hormonal changes or the body stops producing eggs.
Menopause, a phenomenon that only exists in humans, evolves because men only want to pair with young women, Canadian researchers claim.
Humans are the only animal on earth to suffer from menopause. Scientists make many hypotheses to explain the phenomenon, such as hormonal changes or the body stops producing eggs. Some people even think that menopause occurs for older women to stop breeding and to support their children in nurturing them. However, no hypothesis has been widely accepted.
Recently Professor Rama Singh, a McMaster University researcher in Canada, proposed a new hypothesis. He thinks men are the cause of menopause in women , Science Daily reported.

To prove, Singh and his colleagues created a computer model to understand the impact of the "young girl" trend on menopause in older women. The model shows that, because most men do not want to give birth to older women, the fertility of older women becomes unnecessary. Menopause appears to "quell" the hope of giving birth to old women, helping them focus on more practical goals.
"Men always compete with each other to win young women. So the chances of giving birth to an older woman decrease so menopause appears," Singh argued.
Dr. Maxwell Burton-Chellew, an evolutionary biologist at Oxford University, said that Singh's research does not explain why menopause does not exist in other animals.
'Singh and his colleagues say that menopause exists in humans because men like young women. However, it is an uncertain argument, because it is likely that men do not like old women because their fertility is reduced, not for any other reason. Even if Singh's hypothesis is correct, it does not help us answer the question: Why is menopause so rare in the animal world? ' , he said.
Burton-Chellew argues that menopause is not only a by-product of evolution, but also a beneficial adaptation for women.
