Ministry of Health issued Delta regimen for treatment of muscle atrophy

On May 5, the Ministry of Health issued a technical procedure to treat Delta fibromyalgia. This regimen will be disseminated to localities from now on.

Accordingly, for mild cases, surgery will be carried out at the district and provincial hospitals. Special schools transfer patients to higher levels.

In this process, the Ministry of Health guides the diagnostic criteria for Delta muscular atrophy: the patient's arm does not close completely to the chest when standing upright, the shoulder blade protruding behind has a sagging groove along the Delta axis. Indications for Delta fibromyalgia patients are patients who are unable to use a head brush, do not use their hands to scratch the opposite side of the back, change difficult clothes and pain around the shoulder joint.

The only treatment currently available is surgery. After anesthesia or local anesthesia incision is 3-5cm long to cut and release the fibrous muscle strip, release the arm to help it easily close to the chest wall. After surgery, the patient will have to rehabilitate.

The goal is 3 months after surgery, patients can do daily tasks depending on their age and occupation. This technical procedure has not determined the timing of each operation. Costs for each surgery as well as support for cases up to now have not been mentioned.

District and provincial doctors will be trained in diagnostic and surgical skills for patients with Delta atrophy. In the past many parents discovered their arms, and their children were developing abnormally but when they were examined at the district hospital, doctors did not detect the disease. Therefore, in the coming time, it is necessary to deploy this technique to lower-level doctors.

It is known that since January 2006, the Central Children 's Hospital has implemented the project of a grade on Delta muscle fiber. The project was completed in August with the goal of finding out the cause of the disease.

To date, about 2,000 patients with Delta fibrosis have been discovered in many localities such as Phu Tho, Ha Tinh, Son La, and Ha Tay . 1,200 of these people have had surgery. The results after surgery are very good, many children can live normally, even play sports.
