The GL-10 has a wingspan of three meters and designs 10 electric motors to rotate the wing, allowing it to take off and land as a helicopter.
Experts at NASA's Langley Research Center pilot a remote-control aircraft at a military base. " In the test flights, we successfully transitioned from flying mode (vertical takeoff) to conventional fly and continue to switch back to the original mode ," said engineer Bill Fredericks.
The GL-10 can be used as a small freight vehicle, for monitoring agricultural activities, for mapping and for some applications. Larger versions can carry between one and four people. According to UPI, they are continuing to prove that this model is 4 times more dynamic than a helicopter.
