Officially awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 2011 in Norway

Three women including Liberia President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, "female peace fighter" countryman Leymah Gbowee and Yemeni activist Tawakkol Karman on December 10 received the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize , at the show came out in Norway's capital Oslo because of their efforts for peace and democracy.
Speaking before the award, the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Thorbjoern Jagland said: "You represent one of the most important movement forces for the change of the world today, human rights efforts. in general as well as for gender equality and peace in particular ".
Liberia President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is the first elected female president of Africa. Since taking office in 2006, she has made a lot of contributions to ensuring peace in Liberia, promoting socio-economic development and improving the position of women.
Leymah Gbowee was the one who mobilized and organized women of all ethnicities and religions to end the protracted war in Liberia, and ensure women participate in the electoral process. She tried to strengthen the influence of women in West Africa during and after the war.
Meanwhile, Tawakkul Karman is the leading man in the struggle for women's rights, democracy and peace in Yemen.
Mr. Jagland also said that the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize will be a warning bell sent to dictators in places like Syria and Yemen that time is counting down for them.
Attending the ceremony were King Norway Harald, Queen Sonja, Prince Prince Haakon and Princess Mette Marit.
