Our way of raising dogs is causing the Earth to warm up every day

A new study shows that even the way we feed cats and dogs can cause the Earth to warm up day by day.

Still knowing that science and humanity are seeking ways to combat climate change. However, sometimes the agent that contributes to this more serious process comes from some small jobs that we cannot expect. Typically, a recent study shows that even the way we feed cats and dogs can cause the Earth to warm up every day.

Specifically, experts from the University of California, Los Angeles said that family pets are having a big impact on the climate change process.

Why? Pets are more and more like a family member, and their diets are also changing.

Modern people often have a habit of using dry food, wet food (canned food) exclusively for pets because they are both convenient and good for their health.

As meat consumption increases, the amount of meat produced must also increase.

However, there are still many families offering pet dogs and cats to eat food together with them (especially families in Vietnam) because they think that people who eat dogs eat like that.

This leads to many families now giving pets too much meat - more than humans - and that's part of the reason our Earth heats up.

As meat consumption increases, the amount of meat produced must also increase. For those who do not know, the process of raising cattle for meat has been discharged into the environment of a huge amount of greenhouse gases.

According to researcher Gregory Okin - research director - the American diet accidentally created 260 million tons of CO 2 from the manufacturing process. In addition, the meat diet of cats and dogs also generates up to 64 million tons of CO2 per year - a shocking figure for many scientists. It is equivalent to the annual emissions of 13.6 million cars.

It is estimated that pets are responsible for 25% - 30% of impacts on the US environment. Not to mention, their droppings, whether cleaned and thrown away, also increase the total amount of human waste.

"I like dogs and cats, so I certainly don't recommend that we not feed them meat, because that's not in their health," said Professor Gregory Okin.

"But I think we should think about the effects of pets on the environment. They leave a huge impact."

So what's the solution? Professor Okin said, we do not necessarily have to have pets with an overly high diet.

"Dogs don't need to eat steak. In fact, they eat more than humans. Let's combine diet with starch, just to have a serving of meat smaller or equal to humans, that's enough" .
