Access, along with PalmSource member unit, has just introduced Access Linux Platform (ALP) - a Linux platform environment for handheld devices.

By integrating Access's NetFront browser platform, business relationships with more than 30 handset vendors, Linux experts with advanced operating systems, applications, and user interfaces along with PalmSource's developer community, developers believe that ALP will provide the market with a flexible, comprehensive Linux-based solution that integrates the commercial level for the mobile market.
ALP is also equipped with MAX - an innovative application framework for Access and PalmSource - to provide a more user-friendly and intuitive interface for smartphones and mobile devices. MAX will still support executing multiple applications and tasks as well as providing access to background tasks.
Designed with the provision of a predictable and intuitive access model for a single-handed or two-handed user interface, the MAX application framework provides the flexibility to support five-way access and two separate function keys as well as touch screen.
