Phong Le artifacts are more than 1,000 years old

On the morning of November 22, Da Nang City held a scientific workshop on 'Archaeological excavations and conservation plans for Phong Le relics'.

In April 2011, from the accidental discovery of the people on the footprint of a Cham tower foundation, the Danang specialized agencies collaborated with the professional staff of Hanoi National University to conduct excavations. 200m ² emergency archeology at Phong Le, Hoa Tho Dong ward, Cam Le district, Da Nang city.

After nearly two months of excavation, archaeologists have collected 30 relatively intact artifacts and hundreds of bricks, tiles, pottery and stone of Champa origin. Cham foundations have revealed that this is an area with a number of large temples, coinciding with the records in the history of French scholars in the early twentieth century.

Most of the opinions in the workshop were: The objects excavated from Cham Phong Le tower date to more than 1,000 years.
